“Si 274 millions de personnes à travers le monde parlent français, c’est que la langue de Molière a su garder un certain attrait. C’est sur cette attraction que repose tout le concept de French Truly, qui propose à des anglophones d’apprendre le français à travers un programme d’immersion.

French Truly, c’est un concept né à Seattle et imaginé par une Française amoureuse de sa langue maternelle : Virginie Paradis.

Depuis 2003, Virginie vit et travaille hors de France. Nomade, elle est passée de l’Italie, à la Grande Bretagne pour finir sa course aux États Unis à Seattle. Mariée pendant un temps à un américain, la Française a réalisé son attachement à sa langue natale au cours de ses années d’expatriation, et elle décide d’enseigner le français. Voyant sa nationalité comme un atout, elle décide de partager plus que son amour de la langue mais aussi la culture de son pays natal. C’est ce qu’elle essaye de transmettre avec French Truly qui propose plus que des cours en immersion de la langue française mais aussi une véritable introduction à la culture française.

En immersion 

C’est cette appétence pour la France, sa culture et sa langue que les séjours de Virginie combinent. En juin 2013, elle organise ses premiers ateliers en groupe de neuf adultes. Le matin est réservé aux cours théoriques et l’après-midi à des rencontres dans la langue de Molière avec des expatriés francophones de la région.

« Mes étudiants rencontrent ainsi des Français qui ont une histoire professionnelle intéressante à raconter. Je travaille avec eux le matin sur le vocabulaire qu’on risque d’utiliser l’après-midi, pour faciliter leur compréhension. Tout cela se fait dans une atmosphère ludique, quasi familiale…Les retours de mes élèves sont assez encourageants ! » confie Virginie, qui après s’être essayée à Seattle et Paris, tente à présent de séduire un public londonien.

French Truly à Londres 

Ce sont deux week-ends du mois d’août qui sont proposés pour les francophiles voulant améliorer leur apprentissage du français. Le premier week-end (3 et 4 août) est réservé aux élèves ayant un bon niveau de français et le second week-end (10 et 11 août) aux débutants. Parmi les intervenants, on retrouve Amandine Puget de la Maison Puget et Stef le chef pour un atelier cuisine, Emmeline Denis de la Très Zen et Margaux Cras pour le coin beauté et bien être, sans oublier Fanny Malgras créatrice de bijoux et Candice Desmet à la tête d’Act’In. L’équipe d’Ici Londres est aussi de la partie pour présenter le magazine aux étudiants de Virginie, lors des deux week-ends londoniens.”
