Five Students max per Group!
How does it work?
-
We meet once a week on Zoom, same day, same time, so it’s nice and clear in our calendars.
-
I prepare each class myself, email it to you ahead of time so you have time to look at it.
-
Each meeting lasts 1.5 hours during which we only speak French, even though I can use a few English words here and there when absolutely necessary.
-
A series of 4 classes, spread out over 4 weeks.
-
A different French culture topic every week.
How much does it cost?
-
I charge $249 per person, per group of 4 classes. Each group of classes lasts 4 consecutive weeks, each meeting lasts 1.5 hours, so that is a total of 6 hours at $41.5 / hour.
-
Don’t worry if you have to miss one meeting, each class is recorded and then shared with the group (only the group and no one else of course) so you can watch each class and keep all that was written down during the class.
-
I keep each group very small (5 people max) for everyone’s enjoyment, which means I often end up turning people away so the fee is not refundable.
What will you practice?
-
You would love to learn more about French culture and history, and you would love it even more if you could talk about all these exciting topics in French?
-
Every week I will prepare a class for you about a specific subject and email it to you before we meet.
-
We will explore, read through, and discuss the content, you will be free to ask me as many questions as you’d like and also exchange with the other participants.
-
The general vibe is warm, friendly, and non-judgmental. No need to be afraid to make mistakes, that’s how we learn!
This is how we work!

My Happy Students Say It Best!
Virginie is simply brilliant, and she is an incredible teacher. She brings her whole heart and passion to every class, and the courses she designs are truly masterpieces. She is a natural teacher and a vivacious historian.
I give her my highest recommendation as an instructor of French and French history and culture. If you have the opportunity to take any class with her, absolutely do it! It will be incredible.

Yes, there are classes that one can take to learn French. But at a certain point, there’s just something about this type of setting that no longer feels right. Interest wanes. This is where I was mentally when I accidentally met an engaging french woman; a teacher, with an adult approach and a non-judgemental style.
Despite having long ago given up any hope of actually learning this impossible language, I joined a group of like-minded students who had also met this unusual French teacher. We began a weekly “salon” with Virginie and peu à peu our long dormant interest in French was returned to life.
That was 10 years ago. I love learning with Virginie as much as or perhaps even more than I ever did when I first encountered cette langue à la fois énervante et emblématique.

Peu importe votre niveau !
