WHAT WILL WE READ TOGETHER?

Voici le livre que j’ai choisi : Barbe Bleue d’Amélie Nothomb.

Amélie Nothomb is one of my favorite contemporary writers. Je l’adore! She is just magnificent, immensely talented, and profoundly hilarious. I have read every single one of her novels (she writes 4 each year yet only publishes 1) several times and enjoy them every time un peu plus. Amélie’s version of Bluebeard is an exhilarating page turner filled with exquisite dialogues written with her usual impeccable syntax. Que demander de plus? Maybe hear her talk about her Barbe bleue? HOW IT WORKS

What will the Online French Book Club look like?

• A series of 4 classes
• Spread out over 4 weeks
• Each class will last 1.5 hours 
• I will divide our book Barbe Bleue into 4 parts, each part corresponding to 1 class.

I will be using this version of the book (below) and to make sure we all are on the same page (literally!) I will send you a copy so you don’t have to worry about ordering it.

May 18 : from beginning to page 43
May 25 : from page 45 to page 75
June 1 : from page 77 to page 99
June 8 : from page 101 to end
