As one of my YouTube follower put it: “This was a great video! We got listening and reading practice, a history lesson, a tour of a beautiful french village. Hope to get more videos like it in the future.”
You know I have moved to a little French village in the heart of the Pilat regional park called Pélussin.
You also know that I feel beyond charmed by my new bucolic & simple (this is not taking into account French bureaucracy he he) environment and life style.
And I know that you would love it here so I decided to make lots of videos about Pélussin and the French countryside so you could be here with me, at least virtually, until maybe one day you come find me to practice your French for a whole week!
So in today’s video you will learn about the French countryside and practice your French as I speak, read, and show you a fair amount of French. And don’t worry it’s either explained or translated by me directly or in the subtitles. I’m using all sorts of different methods to help you become a little bit French!
This video will show you a great panorama of the village with its 3 neighborhoods (1 church + 1 church + 1 castle) and the history behind the “viaducs” when, how, and why they were built.
And this is not just any old village. Even though I was born in Vienne and spent my teenage years there, Pélussin is where I spent my childhood until age 12. Vienne & Pélussin are close and are only apart by about 25 km, however there are about 30,000 inhabitants in Vienne and only 4,000 in Pélussin! Oh the peace & quiet! I have to admit this number does not include all the cows… my new favorite neighbors ha!
